Hope you are having nice Thursday! Today I would like to share with you few tips where you can enjoy Prague from above. One spot is for free, the second is to pay an entrance fee, and the third … it depends how much you drink and eat 🙂 There are of course more viewpoints in Prague – so it is quite possible that there will be another part of this post.
This viewpoint is probably the most famous one (judging by the number of tourists that are always there). However, the view of Prague’s bridges from here is really magical and worth a visit! This place is wonderful at any time of the year. For this post I chose my photos from autumn. The nearest tram stop is called Chotkovy sady, from the stop to this viewpoint you will get in 5 minutes by walk. After you enjoy the view, I recommend you a walk around the Letná park ended with a beer in a local outdoor beer garden – super refreshing with a beautiful view! If you’re not a beer fan, you can find plenty of nice hipster cafes and bars in this district:) For specific tips feel free to write me.
Vrtbovská zahrada is one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Prague. I have to admit – I learned about this place just last year when my colleague recommended me this place. The week after we went there with our foreign visit and we were all excited! I love discovering new views of the city and this one is truly remarkable. The garden is open daily from April to October (10:00 -18: 00) and admission is 65 CZK (approx. 2,4 Eur). Entrance to the garden is located a few minutes by walk from the tram stop Malostranské náměstí and unfortunately is not very clearly marked, so you have to really watch for signs 🙂 I appreciate that despite the beautiful weather in the garden were not crowds of people (like on other viewpoints). There were only few visitors and a group of wedding guests.
I love rooftop bars! What about you? Every time we go to a foreign bigger city, I am searching on internet these kinds of bar. It makes me very happy to enjoy the view of the city at sunset with glass of some good drink 🙂 We have few of these bars in Prague too, most of them belongs to the hotels and they’re not so budget friendly. Once upon a time, of course, you can treat yourself with visit of fancy rooftop bar, but today I want to mention bar, where I go at least once or twice a month (in the warmer months, of course). T-Anker is located on the roof of the Kotva department store (the nearest tram stop: Náměstí republiky and Dlouhá ulice) and to the bar you will get by special side elevator (on the left from the entrance to the shopping center, needless to enter inside). The terrace offers a stunning views of the Old Town! Prices here are a bit higher, but acceptable, good food, good drinks, nice service, what more could you ask for in the summer 🙂 When is nice weather outside is better to make a reservation in advance.
I hope you liked this article, I’m already looking forward to introduce you another of my favourite places in Prague!
